Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss Fatale is my go to power red.  I love a great bold lip and have always found that red can be tricky to wear on our Indian skin tone.  After a lot of searching I finally found this, my holy-grail red.

Shade- Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss Fatale is a crimson red with a bit of gold micro shimmer.  The name Fatale itself gives you an idea of what Chanel was trying to do with this gloss, this is THE PERFECT red for my lips and what a power red should be.  Now this doesn’t lean either too warm or too cool, there is no underlying visible blue or orange undertone to this colour.  You could claim that it does lean a little warm because of the crimson, but only just.  In my mind, this is what a red crayon would look like liquefied.

Texture and Formula – The formula is amazing, of course you would expect nothing less, being Chanel.  It is soft and glides on the lips without being sticky. It also gives an amazing mirror like shine.  I find Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss Fatale very moisturizing.  My lips tend to be dry, but when I use this there is no need for a lip balm.  In fact, even after the colour has worn off completely I don’t feel the need to hydrate at all.

Pigmentation – I’m surprise this is not sold as a liquid lipstick, the pigmentation is so amazing.  I normally need only one swipe to cover my lips evenly and completely.  I do find that adding one more layer does intensify the colour to some extent, so it is buildable.

Staying power – Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss Fatale lasts on me for about 3 to 4 hours.  The shine does tend to wear off in about 2 hours though, but the colour is still there.  After 3 to 4 hours you can still see a hint of colour on your lips. So overall I find this to be quite a workhorse, considering this is a gloss and not a long last lipstick.

Overall thoughts

I got Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss Fatale first as a sample card when I bought some other Chanel products.  There were two other shades on the card but this one was by far the best.  I got so many complements that I went ahead and bought the full size without blinking an eyelid.  This one is pure, true, unadulterated love.
