It was my birthday last month and on the name of birthday shopping I did loads of shopping. I always love Chanel products, they are treat for me. I wanted to treat myself for getting old (LOL) so thought of adding another chanel lipstick to my stash. I already have Chanel Antigone & Chanel La Raffinee , and both have different finishes. One is sheer and other is velvet matte. This time I wanted to buy a creamy formula so picked Chanel Mademoiselle Rouge Coco Ultra Hydrating Lip Colour instead.

Packaging is regular chanel black & gold case. It is fatter than Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks. It has chanel logo on one the top and shade name/number on the bottom.

Shade – Chanel Mademoiselle is a neutral pink – brown which is perfect for everyday. I wanted to invest in a wearable color so that I could get most use out of it. So I played safe and picked this one, it is really pretty and compliments my skintone. If you are looking for a shade that can be worn to work, this is the one.

Texture & Formula – True to its name Rouge Coco Ultra Hydrating Lip Colour is very moisturising. The creamy formula glides on effortlessly. I have dry lips and just to give them a break from regular matte lipsticks, I picked this. It appeared shimmery initially. But when I looked closer I realised the sheen is coming from the creaminess of the formula.

I love the texture , it doesn’t settle in lip liner. The formula feels comfortable and doesn’t accentuate dryness.

Pigmentation – The shade is decently pigmented. On my pigmented lips, it required atleast 2 layers. It gives opaque finish and covers the discoloration.

Staying Power – Chanel Mademoiselle Ultra Hydrating Lip Colour stays on for 3 hours. Due to its creamy texture the staying power is quite low. However using a matching lip liner as a base can increase the longevity of the color.

Overall Thoughts

If you love to splurge then definitely try Chanel Mademoiselle Rouge Coco Ultra Hydrating Lip Colour. The formula is more opaque than Rouge Coco Shine and very comfortable on the lips. Also the it’s a perfect everyday shade for medium/ deeper complexions. I like it more than Velvet Matte formula which is quite drying on me.
