Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick Fantaisie Nacre Review Swatches

Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick Fantaisie Nacre (Rs 525)

On a recent trip to the shops, I picked up a couple of lovely Chambor lipsticks, and two eye pencils. I guess I am going through a plum phrase, since most of the things I am currently buying belong to this genre. Chambor’s powder matte formula has been a favorite of mine for a considerable period of time, and I already have Rubis Rouge and Dessert Rose with me. This color was a bit of surprise though. Although it looked quite intimidating at first, when swatched, the color made me fall in love with it, and I bought it in the end.Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick Fantaisie Nacre Review and Swatches (8)Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick Fantaisie Nacre Review and Swatches (1)Packaging : The product retails for about 525/- in India, and apparently Chambor is looking to increase prices pretty soon (Stock up!). The packaging is quite nice, a matte dark blue bullet with a thin silver strip down the middle, with the Chambor rose embossed on the top of the bullet. I quite love the packaging, and it is quite easy to carry around, and it does travel very well. Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick Fantaisie Nacre Review and Swatches (3)Product : Chambor’s Powder Matte range is made of colors which are all pigmented and matt-looking once you wear them. This is why you would find many office-going women preferring them, as they have a great professional finish, and does not budge from the lips, while staying on your lips for absolute hours without drying your lips out. The colors are also well-selected, from a few bright shades to a few nudes and darker, more professional ones. Fantaisie Nacre is one such. The lipstick looks dark but when applied the color is lighter. It has a strong fragrance, which might/might not be to your liking. It contains SPF 15 and Vitamin A so points for that too! Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick Fantaisie Nacre Review and Swatches (4)Color and Texture : Fantaisie Nacre (Night Fantasy) is a shade which can be worn at any given time of the day. It’s a lovely shade of plummy brown, which translates into more plum than brown on my lips. As I am NC 42, the color, I have to say, suits my skin tone to the tee, and I would say this would suit most skin tones, as its one of those shades that can be worn by almost anyone. The absence of gloss makes the color settle down quite easily, and one or two swipes are enough to make sure the color is opaque. You can also use a gloss over it, or a bit of balm if you have dry lips, as matte lipsticks in general tends to do that to lips. It does not feather or bleed, and glides on easily. It is mostly non-transferable after the first half an hour or so. Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick Fantaisie Nacre Review and Swatches (7)

Staying Power: If left undisturbed (i.e. no eating or drinking) the color will stay on your lips for 5 hours easily, leaving behind a stain. However, the color does not stand in the face of eating and drinking, so be careful there. Personally, I find that perfectly all right, since I touch up after every 3 hours or so, but you might not be thinking the same.

What I love:

  1. Packaging
  2. Travel-friendliness
  3. Color
  4. SPF 15
  5. Staying power

What I don’t Love:

  1. Smell
  2. Drying on dry lips

Overall Thoughts:

I love this range and I dare say I want to pick up maybe one more from it. The colors are absolutely gorgeous and you should see their entire range. This shade in particular is fantastic if you want to give a professional picture at work, or you want to go out in the day/evening, or while wearing traditional garb. It photographs beautifully, so do check it out!
