Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream Review (2)

Burt’s Bees is one of those iconic brands, born in the 1980s that embraced organic natural ingredients.  Their basic philosophy being – what you put on your body should be made from the best nature has to offer.  As the name suggests, all their products are made from some form of bee’s wax.

If you are a regular user of Nail polish then you will find that keeping your nails and cuticles in good shape makes your manicure look a 100 times better and last much longer.  Dry cuticles look shabby and your manicure looks terrible.

I personally don’t have the time or the inclination to constantly visit a salon to get my nails done.  I love picking my own nail colours and painting my nails at home.  So I have to maintain a good nail care routine.

Packaging – Burt’s Bees Lemon butter cuticle cream is meant for severely dry cuticles.  It is available in a metal tin that is very sturdy and also extremely convenient to carry with you in a purse.

Texture and Application – As one of the main ingredients is beeswax, Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream does feel very waxy to the touch when you put your fingers in the tin to pick it up.  However it very quickly melts with the heat from your fingers.  It takes some time to sink into the skin.  However once it has, your cuticles actually become much softer.  If you need to push back your cuticles,  a few minutes after applying the lemon butter cuticle cream, is a good time to do that.

I sometimes even clip my cuticles with a nail clipper after applying this, since the cuticles have become soft and easily malleable. (This is actually a really bad habit, but I can’t help myself)

It is best to use Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream at night, since the fingers do tend to get a little slippery after application.  You can do your normal activities but using a touch screen is not possible for a while.  You do need to use this for about a week to notice any real change in the way your cuticles behave.

Overall thoughts

While Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream is a wonderful product to soften your cuticles and pamper them, it is not a replacement for a good cuticle remover.  I still use my Sally Hansen Instant cuticle remover once in 15 days.  However, ever since I have started using the Burt’s Bees Lemon butter cuticle cream, the amount of pushing back with the cuticle remover has reduced considerably.  I feel that continued usage may make the cuticles healthier and reduce the overall need for using a cuticle remover.
