70% MORE RADIANCE AND FLAWLESS COMPLEXION FOR UP TO 16 HOURS!

Bourjois’ 1st radiance-boosting fruit therapy foundation for a flawless complexion for up to 16hrs!

  • Apricot > radiance
  • Melon > hydration
  • Apple > antioxidant
  • Ginger > energy

Quite fancy!! I went to buy this foundation just because of the hype. Fortunately I found a sensible SA who matched foundation to my skintone well and didn’t try to sell a lighter shade. This time to avoid any mistakes I swatched and blended the shade 56 on my jawline and it blended into my skin.

Shade Selection – Bourjois Healthy mix Foundation comes in 8 shades to choose from. I know that’s a relief since other drugstore brands don’t bother to launch more than 3-4 shades. Shade No 56 Hale Clair would match you if you are NC 42-NC 44. Though In my opinion it has more pink undertones than yellow and thus shade can turn ashy on complexions with strong yellow undertones. See the swatches below to understand better. I swatched it with MAC face & Body ( MAC C 6 is tad dark for me though)

Top – Bourjois Healthy Mix shade 56, Bottom MAC Face & Body C 6DSC09157Formula – Its light weight and blends in to your skin quickly. I didn’t find it overly moisturizing or drying. Thank fully it didn’t highlight those dry patches across my face. It sets pretty quickly  so you have to work fast. I am not sure if the formula will stay this good in winters too. It does blend into skin seamlessly.

Coverage – It provides medium coverage. It does even out skin tone but doesn’t conceal pigmentation and blemishes. On me it turns ashy on those areas.

Staying Power – It lasts for good 7+ hours without getting oxidized. I have a sweaty face, and in this hot weather even when I keep touching my face with tissue to get rid of sweat moustache, it doesn’t budge or move.

So I wouldn’t layer it up again. Lesson Learnt.

What I liked

  • Blends into the skin leaving it radiant and bright.
  • Looks natural and not cakey whatsoever
  • Doesn’t make skin dry or greasy.
  • 8 shades to choose from.
  • Photographs well

What I didn’t like

  • It turns ashy on areas where I have discolouration.

My problem with Bourjois has always been that it turns ashy anywhere that I have pigmentation. But their products are so beautiful.

I’m about to get this foundation for myself, I’m just wondering whether to get the original one or the serum. The opinions of reviewers seem to contradict one another.

I have this one in 54 and I love it!! It’s my HG!! You are right about the ashy part. I never layer it on because it tends to look so as well. I put on a thin layer and cover the discolorations with a concealer. That way it works fine for me 🙂

    Nisha

Any foundation will turn ashy on pigmentation. Some more than others. 🙂 Pigmentation needs to be colour corrected and concealed for it to disappear, it won’t go away with layering foundation because the ashy tones in the skin haven’t been corrected in the first place.

I know Nisha but I haven’t seen any color correcting products here .. except that orange color corrector at MAC and that looked really orange when SA applied it on me :/
