Bourjois Happy Light Foundation (Rs 1100)
Shade: I got mine in the shade 52 beige clair, I got it in February, and in this summer tan, this colour is getting a little light for me, but since its sheer in coverage, I blend it and get the job done. This shade would be a perfect match for some with NC30-35. Also the foundation has a visible beige, leaning more toward yellow undertones to, which is great for Indian skin tones J
Packaging: The first thing which attracted me to this product was its packaging. It looks just so cute with an orange coral pump and not to forget, the smiley which makes me feel happy looking at the very bottle . the plastic is quite sturdy and good for travel, the cap shuts really tight, and the pump dispenses just the right amount of product . yes it does come with a pump, which is the best part, I hate foundations or liquid product that don’t have a pump, as it makes things a lot messy.
Texture & Formula : Bourjois Happy Light Foundation is a cross between Gel and Serum like texture. The consistency is extremely light . This foundation amazed me the first time I put it on my face. It feels like you are applying a skin care serum with a little tint and not a foundation. A really good option for summers J .
Coverage : Bourjois Happy Light Foundation is super duper light weight in formula, and I almost get zero wear feel with this, I also do love the fact that this guy doesn’t oxidise, nor does it transfer at all, It blends easily and sinks in completely. The finish is very skin-like, nearly matte but not dry. It gives light to medium (buildable) coverage and really smoothens out imperfections giving a flawless and pore less (I don’t really have pores tough)look to the skin. I think the silicones are responsible for that (as well as its good performance on oily skin). I like that its not a very pigmented foundation. I don’t end up with a cakey face with it . I need about 2 pumps to do my entire face and neck.
Staying Power: It claims 8 hours hydration. I don’t have dehydrated skin but when I’ve worn this over the entire day, my skin looks and feels FRESH. Otherwise foundations can sometimes make the skin a little stretchy and patchy after a day’s wear. But if you have dry patches, you would need a good moisturizer underneath because the texture is not very dewy. I definitely is not a foundation for summers, as it really accentuates dry patches.
Overall Thoughts
It contains translucent pigments(as the brand claims) that are responsible for the boost of freshness and glow it gives to the skin (which I prefer over shimmer particles in a foundation). If you have pigmentation and you moderate to heavy coverage, you need a concealer for that because Bourjois Happy Light Foundation just evens out skin tone and doesn’t cover spots and dark circles. People with sensitive skin should give a test first for this, as it has high amount of silicones, overall a good pick for summer
RATINGS – 4/5

Bourjois foundations are so good but they should have more shades. I tried 54 and that also felt light to me 🙁 I dont think we get 55 in Australia !
