This is one product I looked around for so long in stores around me and couldn’t find it. I thought it was available in India, but couldn’t get even one for me. Then during my Dubai trip I spotted it at Bourjois Counter at Delhi Duty Free. I picked 02 to check the formula and have been loving it ever since. You can find review of another shade Ole Flamingo from the same range on the blog.

Shade – Bourjois Frambourjoise is a beautiful Raspberry shade, I love such colors on me. It looks slightly brighter on the lips than in the tube.

Texture & Formula – Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvel Lipsticks are famous for their velvet matte finish. The consistency of the lipstick is thick, like any liquid lipstick. Formula applies evenly even in single stroke. It comes with a doe foot applicator which deposits color evenly on the lips. I like how it dries and sets quickly on the lips. You would feel the formula drying initially but when after a while you would definitely need a lip balm to keep your lips from looking chapped and flaky.

Pigmentation – Frambourjoise is very pigmented and all you need is one layer of application. I like how the color covers lip discoloration evenly , without much effort.

The shade looks slightly coral in the picture below, because of sunlight. Is actually deeper than this.

Staying Power – Bourjois Frambourjoise Velvet lipstick stays on for good 5 hours on me, gradually fading into a strong pink tint.

Overall Thoughts

I am kicking myself for not picking more shades when I had the opportunity. I wasn’t sure about the formula and how would it look on my lips that have numerous lines. Color payoff is great and so is the staying power. However like any other liquid matte lipstick it does make lips dry after few hours or once the creamy layer wears off. Keeping a lip balm handy would save your lips from looking chapped and cracked.
