Bourjois BB Cream Foundation – Rs 870 for 6g, available at Bourjois CountersBourjois has recently joined BB cream bandwagon and has come up with BB cream foundation. It gives light to medium coverage. It comes in the form of cream compact. Bourjois had launched 4 shades and Golden beige matched my complexion, FYI I am NC 44 in mac. Unlike other BB creams Bourjois BB Cream foundation comes in chic black case with a sponge applicator. It has a movable mirror which can be rotated in any directions and upwards. Texture of the BB cream is creamy, it literally melts when you swatch and rub it into the skin. Sponge applicator is OK to use, however if used dry it tugs on to the skin and application becomes quite cumbersome. I have used a stippling brush once and it worked well, however with sponge blending becomes flawless.Formula is neither drying nor moisturizing. It looks creamy but once blended settles into a satiny finish. Doesn’t feel sticky or greasy whatsoever. How flawless it looks depends on how moisturized is your skin. If you have dry flaky skin it will highlight dry patches. I have dry skin and i have to put on a heavy duty moisturizer before applying it. I believer oily skin girls wouldn’t have much issues but then I don’t know how well it works on oil control. It has spf 20 so working or college going girls would love it, however if used for flash photography it looks ashy.
If looked as a foundation it doesn’t conceal much/ provide much coverage. It provides light to medium coverage. I have a bit discoloration around my mouth and some under my eyes, it kind of camouflages them to an extent but not completely. So if you have blemished then you might need to use concealer.
It stays on for 4-5 hours and fades away. You can see how it has brightened up my face. I wear it whenever I am going out and need a bit of coverage. After 5 minutes of application it sets and you cannot tell if i am wearing any foundation on. Just a clear complexion.. It doesn’t smell anything.
Why I liked it
- Packaging is chic and classy. Comes with an applicator and mirror so excellent for carrying along.
- Formula is light and looks really natural. It blends into skin seamlessly.
- Its a cream formula but once applied settles into a satiny finish. Doesn’t feel stick whatsoever. One doesn’t need to apply powder over it.
- Has SPF 20.
What i disliked
- Formula clings on to dry patches.
- Expensive for the quantity it comes with.
Overall Thoughts
Its not a must buy in my opinion. Due to its price and quantity. If you start using it daily, you might hit pan in 1 month (max). Coverage is light to medium and covers redness and blemishes to some extent. If you are working and want to wear natural looking foundation this can be a good choice. You can buy cheaper versions of Tinted moisturizers or BB creams available in market. If you plan on buying it then i would advise you to test it one your face for 4-5 hours before buying.

I was looking forward to your review of the Bourjois BB cream, but like you I am a little disappointed in the product. The fact that it clings to dry patches is a no-no and the SPF is too low. Lucky for us brands keep on launching new BB’s by the week. So much more for us to test 😉
