I love using body butters from The body Shop. They are very nourishing and always smell fabulous. I don’t use body butters as much in summer as I do in winters as I feel sweaty, but if I am using a body scrub, I definitely follow it up with a generous amount of body butter, so that my skin doesn’t feel dry or scratchy. You need to keep your skin moisturised, coz it is the skin that ages first. The Vanilla Bliss Body Butter was part of their Christmas collection. I haven’t managed to use it up yet even though I love it, it’s a huge jar. Also, I keep alternating between my other Body Shop Body Butters. I love them all. I am going to concentrate on using it up in the next 2-3 months.

Packaging – Vanilla Bliss Body Butter comes in a plastic jar/tub style packaging. It is quite an attractive packaging and it’s easy to carry while travelling also. Mine looks a bit beaten up as it is well loved. Though the tub style packaging is unhygienic, but I use it with clean hands, so I am not much bothered by it. Overall decent and sturdy packaging.

Texture & Fragrance – The texture of the body butter is smooth and creamy and butter like. It glides on to the skin and my skin just soaks it up. It has an off white shade. Though it is a body butter, it is not overtly greasy. It sinks into the skin and moisturises it perfectly without making your skin feel greasy or overtly tacky.

The fragrance oh my god, is so heavenly. I am one of those people who loves vanilla, I occasionally go rounds with other flavours but I come back to vanilla. If there are all the flavours in front of me, the first one I would pick would be vanilla. I know, I know, I am boring. But again I like vanilla which smells like pure vanilla, unlike the spiced vanilla collection from the Body Shop. Vanilla Bliss Body Butter smells authentic vanilla. I just want to slurp it up. I have to restrain myself from doing that. But, if you don’t like intense Vanilla flavour please do not go for this, you will hate it as it leaves behind the fragrance hours after use.

My Experience

In winters I diligently use Vanilla Bliss Body Butter in the morning after bath, and in the night before sleeping. I love to wear this sweet smelling body butter and go to bed. In summers I do not use this regularly, except for the days when I am using a body scrub. Though it’s not that greasy I don’t feel the need of a heavy cream for my body on regular summer days. The rest of the days I use body lotion. If I feel my skin is feeling very dry, scratchy and stretchy I use it at night and go to sleep and wake up with a smooth and soft skin. Over regular use, this body butter makes my skin very soft and smooth.

It stays on my skin for 6-8 hours depending on the weather. It continues to smell strong for the first few hours and then slowly starts fading. I am quite happy and in love with the hydration, wear time and the fragrance.

Overall Thoughts

If you are someone who loves to indulge in body butters and loves the vanilla scent, go for The Body Shop Vanilla Bliss Body Butter. You will not regret it. It works well for all skin types. Dry skinned people will find it aptly moisturising and oily skinned people won’t find it overtly greasy. It comes in a huge jar is worth the money. I absolutely love it and would recommend it to everyone. I would buy this again and again if it wasn’t limited edition. If for nothing else, then only for the heavenly fragrance.

Rating – 5/5
