The Body Shop Skin Defence Multi Protection Essence SPF50 Review

Sunscreen are an essential part of skincare regime during summer. An ideal sunscreen should not only protect skin from UVA but also from UVB rays. UVA rays cause ageing and UVB rays cause tanning. Now the only challenge is to find a formula that isn’t too sticky or thick and doesn’t leave a ghostly white case. I have tried a number of sunscreens in the past and have couple of favourites . But my search didn’t end until I came across The Body Shop Skin Defence Multi Protection Essence that has a feather light formula !The Body Shop Skin Defence Multi Protection Essence SPF50 Review

A bit about the product

-UVA Protection: PA++++: Helps protect skin from UVA rays, including long UVA rays, which reach deep within the skin and accelerate the process of skin ageing.

-UVB protection: SPF 50 helps protect skin from UVB rays that trigger redness and damage the skin’s surface.

-Anti-oxidant: Helps protect skin from external aggressors such as environmental pollution that weakens the skin’s ability to remain healthy and with red algae extract and viitamin C to brighten.

Packaging is really simple and travel friendly. This 40 ml sunscreen comes in a white tube with a narrow nozzle. However i find tube a bit too big for the quantity. The Body Shop Skin Defence Multi Protection Essence SPF50 Review

Now coming to the texture of The Body Shop Skin Defence Multi Protection Essence, which is amazingly light and just disappears into the skin without making it too greasy or dry. I have dry skin but anything that adds too much oil makes it break out. So I always buy sunscreen for oily skin that has gel or matte formula.

The texture is runny waterlike and blends immediately without leaving a white cast. So if you have dry or very dry skin make sure to apply a nice moisturisers during winters or colder weather. The formula has vitamin C and all the necessary ingredients to brighten up the complexion without making it ashy. However to see the brightening effect one needs to use to religiously.

I always make sure to apply a good sunscreen before stepping out because UV damage is mostly irreversible and causes premature ageing apart from tanning & dullness. This would also be an idea sunscreen for acne prone skin.

Only downside is the price which is too high for a sunscreen (40 ml tube). If you use it daily this small bottle will not last you more than 2 months (max)

The Body Shop Skin Defence Multi Protection Essence SPF50 is priced at Rs 2495 for 40 ml, available Online

Overall Thoyghts

I am seriously in love with the formula and extremely light weight texture of this sunscreen. I always avoid sunscreens and use moisturisers with SPF only because most of the sunscreens leave a white cast or make me breakout. However The Body Shop Skin Defence Multi Protection Essence is an exception and highly recommended.
