The Body Shop Oils Of Life Intensely Revitalizing Sleeping Cream & Essence Lotion Review

When it comes to skincare, I follow regimes religiously, with changing products often. I keep on shuffling the products and using different ones in between, based on my skin’s needs & weather conditions. Its been raining in Delhi for almost 2 weeks now and I can definitely feel the chill in the air. My skin is dry and starts looking scaly & wrinkle-y once the air turns cold. I love using facial oils and used up the first bottle of The Oils Of Life Intensely Revitalizing Facial Oil. This time I included two of the recent additions in Oils Of Life range – Intensely Revitalizing Sleeping Cream and Essence Lotion.

The Body Shop Oils Of Life Sleeping Cream & Essence Lotion Review

The Body Shop Oils Of Life Intensely Revitalizing Essence Lotion (Rs 1,895 for 160ml)

Enjoy a highly-sensorial experience, with its bi-phase (oil + water) formula, this Intensely Revitalizing Essence Lotion supremely combines the freshness of water and the nourishing feel of oil. Our Essence Lotion has a lightweight refreshing texture that glides onto skin and leaves a pleasurable soft touch finish without a greasy feel. Our Essence Lotion provides instant visible results while preparing and activating skin for the next steps of your routine.

I really like the packaging of Essence lotion. It comes in a big plastic bottle with a black cap. I pour few drops of the lotion which is bi-phased , a mix of oil & water, on a cotton round and use it the way one uses toner. This is the step right after cleansing and before applying oil. The lotion has a nice soothing scent and moisturising properties.

I have been using it off and on for almost a month now. I love using the Oil & Night cream together but if I include the essence lotion, something does cause white heads. Which means the essence lotions blocks/clogs the pores. Don’t know if the problem is with my skin or I should wait for the winters to come to start using this product again.

The Body Shop Oils Of Life Intensely Revitalizing Sleeping Cream (Night Cream)  (Rs 2,495 for 80 ml)

This refreshing yet cushiony and ultra-nourishing cream will effortlessly melt onto your skin, leaving it feeling smoother, more supple and visibly rested. Apply our Oils of Life™ Intensely Revitalising Sleeping Cream onto your fingertips and massage gently onto your face, neck and décolleté in an upward motion.

I really like an intense moisturizing cream for night time, since thats the time our skin repairs itself. However being someone with acne prone skin, I avoid using greasy heavy formulas. I was a bit skeptical while using the Sleeping Cream but to my surprise this cream has a gel like formula which is packed with moisture. The cream has 3 precious seed oils & 7 essential oils, perfect for my dry skin.

After washing my face with a cleanser I apply few drops of Oils Of Life Facial Oil. Then I let the oil disappear into the skin (wait for around 5-10 minutes) and then follow up with the Intensely Revitalizing Night Cream. I take about twice a pea size amount of the cream and massage it gently on my face and neck in upward motions. It absorbs into the skin in couple of minutes. I can see my skin looking smoother and healthier next morning. The difference is visible just after 3-4 uses.

The Intensely Revitalising Sleeping Cream comes in a glass jar with black lid. The jar has quite a lot of product as opposed to regular 50 ml tubs. Since less is more with this product, this jar should last me atleast 3-4 months.

Overall Thoughts

I really like The Body Shop Oils Of Life Intensely Revitalizing Sleeping Cream for its gel like yet intense moisturising. Its perfect for those who struggle with dry skin and need something that can work on patchy areas. I enjoy the soothing scent and how supple my skin looks after using it. My nighttime routine has changed now and OOL Facial Oil & Sleeping Cream have become an integral part of it.
