So many times it happens that a new foundation is launched an shades are either too dark or too light for your complexion. I am always between shades and buying two shades to mix and get a custom shade isn’t the most pocket friendly idea. Though I have to do it always and end up not using any of them because of the hassles. I was excited to know that The Body Shop Lightening Shade Adjusting Drops were launched in India. I didn’t know that only Lightening variant was launched, well I am still happy because now I can pick foundations that are slightly dark and make them work.

If you have light to medium skin you may find your foundation looks too dark or orange. A concentration of white and pink pigments in our Lightening Drops helps neutralise yellowness while lightening. Simply add a drop to lighten light to medium shades.

I take few drops of the foundation that has to be lightened up to match my skintone, and then put couple of drops of The Body Shop Lightening Shade Adjusting Drops in it. Mixing it nicely and adding  more drops until I get a perfect match. The shade adjusting drops mix very quickly and lighten the shade without changing its consistency. Since the product is slightly pink , it tones down the yellowness of the foundation which can both be good or bad.

I have used Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Toffee Caramel for the mixing and since the shade was pretty dark  I had to use these drops generously to get the right match.

I also use it to lighten my concealer, I have MAC prolongwear concealer in NW35 & L’Oreal True Match Concealer in Deep and both are quite dark. Adding few drops of this product lightens them and I can use those concealers as under eye brightener. This way I use Shade Adjusting Drops more than one way. Overall Thoughts

The Body Shop Shade Adjusting Drops Lightening can be a good option for those who are always between shades and need to lighten their foundation a bit. Adding a few drops can do the trick however changing the color drastically can effect the tone as Shade Adjusting Drops lightening has pink tones and it tends to neutralise the yellow. I would have loved to test the darkening one had the brand launched it as well because for my medium-deep complexion it would have suited better.
