I had shared Swatches of Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Kajal Liner and a tutorial on How to do smokey eye makeup by Bobbi Brown’s Makeup Artist Eliano Bou Assi using it last month. I have been using Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Kajal Liner for over a month now and would be reviewing the same today.
Shade – Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Kajal Liner comes in 6 shades. I have got “Noir” which is a black kajal. This shade is perfect for creating smokey eyemakeup looks.
Texture & Formula – Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Kajal Liner has a soft formula but it holds its shape and doesn’t melt crazily while applying or storing. I use it both as a base and eyeliner for smokey eye looks and it works perfectly in both the cases. Formula is really smooth and applies easily without tugging or pulling. I use it both for waterline and lashline and it hasn’t irritated my eyes ever. I use the smudger (attached at one end of the pencil) to soften the look or blend the kajal and that smudger works really well.
Pigmentation – Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Kajal Liner Noir is very pigmented. One stroke deposits enough product and there is hardly any need to go over again to fix the eye-lining.
This is how Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Kajal Liner Noir looks on me after wearing for good 6 hours without an eyeshadow base. I have used Revlon Colorstay Shadowlinks in Plum on the top of it to create a soft daytime look.
Staying Power – Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Kajal Liner stays on for good 6-7 hours on me with formula fading a bit after 5+ hours. I haven’t seen it smudging on me, however one should be cautious and apply a good eye primer in case of oily lids. Brand doesn’t claim it to be a long lasting, smudgeproof product so I can’t judge or criticize this product on those grounds. However I can see the kajal wearing off my waterline after 3-4 hours.
Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Kajal Liner is a perfect product for creating smokey eye makeup looks It works well both as a base or a kajal/ eye liner. Formula is soft smooth and pigmented. You get a fairly large size pencil at this price, which will last you quite a long time. Bobbi Brown has not claimed it to be long lasting, smudgeproof product, its a simple kajal, so I can’t really judge it on those grounds. Only downside is that Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Kajal Liner comes in a wooden pencil form that needs to be sharpened every now and then, and that results in product wastage.
