Bobbi Brown Salmon Lipcolor (Rs 1800 for 3.4 gm) available at Kunchals.
I loved the lipstick when I saw it but there were no testers to try so I have no idea how the shade would come out.
Shade – As per Bobbi Brown, Salmon is a pale peach and I can not deny this description as it is indeed very pale peach in one swipe. The shade is best suited for NC15 – NC30. It is sans any shimmer or sheen.
Packaging – I like the classy casing of the lipstick.It comes packed in a shiny black square hard casing having a golden band in the middle that looks and speaks class. It is sturdy and travel friendly. The shade name is provided at the bottom of the lipstick.
Texture &Formula – The texture of Bobbi Brown Salmon Lipcolor is smooth and easy to apply. It glides on easily without any pulling or tugging. It has a creamy texture but there is no tendency of bleeding if over applied. It is initially moisturising but settles to a semi matte finish after half an hour or so. It doesn’t settle in the lip lines but it can accentuate dry flaky lips so exfoliation is necessary prior its application. It has mild floral fragrance that I like.
Pigmentation – The shade is a bit sheer when applied but it gains intensity after it settles to a semi matte finish. It is decently pigmented and brings out true colour in 2 swipes.
Staying Power – Salmon stays for about 5-6 hours on my lips with a meal included. It is a light shade but it still stays for such a long time because of the fact that it settles to a semi matte finish and the shade intensifies which is amazing.
Overall Thoughts
Bobbi Brown Salmon Lipcolor is a creamy textured pale peach that will suit NC15 – NC30 skin tones more. It is light weight and easy to apply and has decent staying power but it accentuates dry flaky lips. I could not swatch the shade at the store prior buying it else I would have not bought this shade. However, it suits me when it settles down and intensifies. I like the packaging and staying power but it is not easily available at present.
I suggest trying out other shades in this range as the texture and feel of the lipstick is great but sadly the shade did not work for me even though I like peach/ coral shades. This is more on the cooler side and it accentuates my yellow undertones a lot.
