Bobbi’s original formula treats lips to rich color with a soft-matte finish. Infused with Vitamins E and C as well as Beeswax, it also moisturizes and comforts lips.  

I have tried Bobbi Brown Lip Color in Red before and liked the formula. This time when I was looking out for an everyday color and didn’t want to buy anymore MAC, my feet automatically led me to Bobbi Brown Store, to not-so-pushy Sales Executives.

Shade – Bobbi Brown Pink Mauve Lip Color is a Medium Rosy Mauve. It is deeper and more pink than mauve. I have tried and worn lots of plums and mauves in past, and they are some of the shades that compliment my complexion , so without thinking twice I decided to pick this one up. When I say everyday color, I don’t mean browns or pale pinks, I mean a shade that can look as close as possible to my natural lip color. Bobbi Brown Rose Mauve looks pretty natural on me and this color would look good on medium to deeper complexions.

Texture & Formula – Its a semi matte formula. When you swipe it on it gives a slight creamy finish but after an hour or so formula settles into a semi matte finish. Texture of Bobbi Brown Pink Mauve is creamy and it glides on smoothly. Formula is moisturizing but after 3-4 hours it settles in, accentuates lip lines and my lips start feeling a bit dry.

Pigmentation – Bobbi Brown Pink Mauve is very pigmented. One stroke covers any lip discoloration and deposits even color. This time I decided to opt for opaque finish because I was looking for a non-glossy everyday kind of color.

Staying Power – It stays on for good 5+ hours with meal in between. Bobbi Brown Pink Mauve fades evenly and doesn’t turn patchy whatsoever.

The only downside I can think of is that after 3-4 hours my lips star feeling dry.

Overall Thoughts

Bobbi Brown Pink Mauve is the kind of everyday lipstick I was looking for. It has pink and mauve and doesn’t make me look dead or too made up. Finish is semi matte so it doesn’t feel too drying or uncomfortable. I am impressed with the pigmentation & Staying power also.
