Shade – Bobbi Brown Cognac is a deep brown almost chocolate color eye shadow with copper shimmers. When applied it turns into metallic brown with slight red undertones. Its a beautiful and would be universally flattering color. Its an apt shade if you love to wear brown smokey eye makeup a lot !

Texture & Formula – Texture of Cognac is thick, soft and silky. Formula applies and blends easily. I have worn it with and without primer and in both the cases it covers lids with minimum product. I haven’t noticed any fall outs. It has fine shimmers that give it a metallic finish, shimmers are soft and blend easily and don’t feel gritty or chunky whatsoever. I like how subtle the finish is. Cognac is a shade that can be worn day or night. Staying Power – I have worn Bobbi Brown Cognac eyeshadow both with or without primer and formula glides on smoothly and stays on for long time. Here is have worn Bobbi Brown Cognac without primer and for the look below I have used long wear cream eyeshadow stick ‘Bark’ as a base. With primer/ base Cognac stays on for good 8-9 hours with no smudging or fading , without any primer/ base it stays on for good 6+ hours without creasing and slightly fading from the outer V & lower lash line as it wears off.

Bobbi Brown Cognac Eyeshadow isn’t a unique shade but the formula and texture is unique. Pigmentation is superb and can be compared to pressed pigments. Texture is thick yet applies easily and blends swiftly. This is a must have shade for all those who love wearing brown smokey eyes and Cognac is a universally flattering shade (suit all complexions) and would look amazing on brown eyes ! Only downside is the price, but considering how less product one needs to use each time, its worth having.
