We all dread stretch marks, I got numerous during my pregnancy. Most of them are at the lower part of my belly. No matter how much moisturized I kept my skin during pregnancy,those stretch marks still appeared.
Bio Oil is formulated to help improve their appearance and has been known to work wonders on stretch marks and blemishes. I have been using Bio Oil for more than 5 weeks twice daily on my stretch marks and I must say the I can see the difference. They appear less prominent and have faded a bit.
I use Bio Oil after shower daily in the morning and before going to bed at night. Its a “Dry Oil” that means formula is non-sticky and sinks faster into the skin. Bio Oil also keeps skin moisturized , though not throughout the day. I had to reapply after every 6 hours. I have used Bio Oil for moisturizing dry skin on body and it has worked there too. Like I said moisturization isn’t long lasting so one needs to reapply it after 6 hours (if you have dry skin).
I wanted to but didn’t use Bio Oil on acne marks as I was already testing couple of products that claim to reduce blemishes. I will try it on acne marks and uneven skintone soon and share my experience in a separate post with before & after shots.
Bio Oil doesn’t completely remove stretch marks. They will still be there though less prominent.
Overall Thoughts
Bio Oil definitely works on stretch marks. It fades them slightly but doesn’t remove them (and neither claims to do so). One has to be regular and patient while using such products because you wouldn’t be able to notice results in 2 weeks. As per Bio Oil website one should use it continuously for 3 months to see visible results. Bio Oil is available online at Flipkart. You can use Bio Oil to treat dry skin and being a dry oil it provides moisturization without being sticky or greasy. However if you have severe dry skin this product might not deliver desired moisturization and you would be required to reapply it after every 5-6 hours.

Before I researched about it, I thought it’s a dry oil for face! Anyway I do have plenty of stretch marks because of crazy dieting and binging I did in my teens. They are not very prominent now so maybe I can skip this! Thanks for the thorough review!
