Benefit Posietint Cheek and Lip Stain Review Swatches

Benefit cosmetics has been churning out some of the most loved cheek and lip tints for a long while now, the most famous one being Benetint.  Having used and loved Benetint, I decided to treat myself to Posietint and it does not disappoint.

Benefit Posietint – Bright bubblegum pink, Poseitint dares you to give it a whirl.  Benefit says “This poppy pink tinted stain brightens cheeks and lips with a cheery flush and a natural finish”   Following up a cult product like Benetint is never easy, but Posietint delivers on all counts.

Packaging – Like all Benefit tints, this one comes in a glass bottle with a white screw on cap and a nail polish style brush. Though I felt this was strange when I started using it, I find it really convenient now.  It allows me to control the amount of product I can get on the brush.  While Benetint comes in a clear glass bottle, this one is opaque pink with a mirrored finish.  The downside is you cannot see how much product is left in the bottle.

Shade and Formula – Benefit Posietint is a very “milky” brightpoppy pink liquid in the bottle, but don’t be scared by the way it looks, it applies like a dream. The colour is a cool toned but seems to work beautifully on my very warm toned skin.  On my cheeks it is a natural pink and I love the overall impact it gives.  Being a tint, it has no glitter or shimmer and I find that the entire look is pared down, but very sophisticated.

The formula of Benefit Posietint is a little thick and is not at all watery like its predecessor, Benetint. I actually find this one easier to apply than Benetint, since the slightly thicker consistency gives you greater control over blending.

Now, while this is supposed to be a cheek and lip stain, I find that it doesn’t really work very well on my lips.  I find it very drying and if you are prone to dry flaky lips then this will make the problem worse.  I find myself licking my lips constantly because of the super dry tight feeling.  I have therefore avoided using this more often.

Pigmentation  – It is very buildable.  The first couple of strokes will give you a nice natural flush.  I cannot actually see any distinct colour on my cheeks but it gives you a subtle but radiant glow.   It can be built up to be more opaque, however I prefer the more natural look.  Every time I have worn this, I have been complemented on how “healthy” my skin looks!  Can’t complain 🙂

Staying Power – Posietint is a workhorse and normally lasts on me for 6 to 8 hours, that is, until I actually take it off.  Since I don’t really like how this looks on my lips, I have never really used it and can’t really comment on how long it stays on lips.

Overall Thoughts

Benefit hits it out of the park with this wonderful product.  Even though I can’t make use of the products multi-tasking ability, it is still a winner in my book.  I have never used much of product on my cheeks till Benetint and Posietint came along.  I still reach for these two beauties regularly.  I now want to try the Cha Cha tint and the newly launched Lollitint.  Secret santa, anyone..?? J
