How to apply

Brush three strokes on the apples of your cheeks & blend quickly with fingertip. Apply on lips & blend. For a deeper “pop” of color, repeat.

Benetint comes in a glass bottle with a brush applicator which looks and feels almost like a nail paint brush, which is of no good in my opinion. It doesn’t take out enough product and product starts dripping from it. I dab some product on to the back of my hand and apply it with my fingers.

Benetint looks deep burgundy shade in bottle, very runny/ watery in consistency. Though on lips/ cheeks it comes sheerer and looks almost pink. On my medium skin tone i have to layer it up almost 4 times. Also remember to blend it quickly because once it dries, becomes really hard to blend and looks patchy.

Benetint looks very natural on cheeks, its sheer so can be built up to desired intensity or toned down for a natural flushed cheeks.

I have pigmented upper lip so to make both lips look even I have to layer it up on the bottom lip. If you don’t have lip pigmentation this would give beautiful rosy tint in one sweep. But you have to be careful if your lips are dry/ chapped as tints have a tendency of settling into dry/ chapped part of lips and highlight them, which looks ugly.

Staying power on cheeks is 9+ hours or maybe more than that since this is the max i kept it on. On lips it fades after 5 hours.

That’s how it looks on meThe price is too steep for a tint so while looking around for possible dupes, it came closest to The Body Shop Lip & Cheek Stain 01. TBS tint costs Rs 600 (approx) for 12 ml pack. It comes in a lip gloss kind of packaging with a much convenient doe tip applicator. It has gel like consistency so its bit easier to work with.

Overall Thoughts

Benefit Benetint Lip & cheek Stain is a good option if you can get a travel size from ebay or get it from abroad in much cheaper price as in India it costs double and splurging 2200 Rs on a tint doesn’t make sense no matter how terrific the product might be. You can look for possible dupe available as TBS one works fine. Benefit Benetint Lip & cheek Stain looks very natural and gives rosy tint to cheeks. It will be great option for girls who want to give some color to their cheeks/ lips  without looking made up. Its not a must have in my eyes though because the quantity of product (12.5ml) is too less when compared to the price. Also this product will suit fair to medium skintones, dark skins will have tough time layering it to show up on them.
