Avon Red Dahlia Ultra Color Indulgence Lipstick Review

As summers have majorly dried out my lips I was literally keen to try out a lipstick  which has a moisturizing  formula. Being a complete matte lover and always being one of those who loves wearing matte hippies. I did feel that time has come for a change as matte lipsticks can be really drying on lips. When Avon has introduced their new color indulgence lipstick range which claims to have a wax free gel moisturising formula. I was like my dried out lips needs to have this , so I picked Avon Red Dahlia Ultra Color Indulgence Lipstick, lets see how it worked for me.

Packaging – The avon color indulgence lipstick comes in sturdy sleek black tube with the brand name written around the lid on the silver band. The shade name is written on the bottom of tube. The overall black and silver combination packaging of the lipstick makes it appear quite classy and chic . To sum up , the packaging is attractive and travel friendly as well.

Shade – As the  name says ‘red dahlia’ one can get an idea that its one of those shades which belong to the family of red color. The shade can be best described as a cranberry deep red color. I pretty much loved the color as it comes in one of those category red which can easily compliment all skin tones . It’s a deep dark red  which can instantly brighten up your face.

Pigmentation & texture – Avon color indulgence lipstick is not supremely pigmented. You need to swipe 2-3 times to get the real color, they are a  bit sheer. As this range claims to have a hydrating moisturizing feel to the lips. Well yes post application the lips feel quite moisturized plus it  glides  easily on the lips.

Avon Red Dahlia Ultra Color Indulgence Lipstick has extremely soft texture which can easily melt into the lips. As it has the gel formula it feels quite comfortable as well.  The  lipstick is not transfer proof and if worn without a lipliner can cause little mess around the lips. The formula is quite smooth to melt easily. Also I am not a fan of lipsticks which have any sort of smell as this one do have a smell.

However the overall the finish of lipstick is amazing as it  looks quite glossy and moisturizing on the lips.

Staying power – Red dahlia stayed on my lips without any meals for 3 -4 hours.  But with meals it could not survive more than 2 hours which was little disappointing. Anyhow the good thing is it felt quite hydrating on the lips .

Overall Thoughts

I am impressed with the wax free moisturizing gel formula of Avon Red Dahlia Ultra Color Indulgence Lipstick. But at the same time quite disappointed with the staying power and non transfer proof ability. However if one needs to save their lips from drying can try these lipsticks as they do feel hydrating and comfortable.

Keep this lippy in cool area or in a refrigerator as it has a  gel formula which can melt easily if stored in area exposed to heat
