7 Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipsticks Swatches Photos Price

Its been more than 3 years now and liquid lipsticks craze doesn’t seem to end. Many international as well as indian brands have launched liquid lipsticks and believe me I am enjoying them as much as anyone else out there. Sugar has also come up with liquid lipsticks in 10 shades. Most of them are shades of pink & reds which is of course disappointing, but yeah maybe we indian women love those hues. I picked 7 out of 10 available Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipsticks and after testing them for more than 2 weeks, here are my thoughts.

Packaging is very similar to Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipsticks. The tube is short and so is the wand. The wand is flat with a round tip, not the most user friendly ones but can work with kinds. I like Lakme 9To5 Lip & Cheek mousse better in terms of wand shade. You might have to go back to the tube twice thrice to pick more color and finish the application with Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipsticks.

Shades – Unfortunately the range has more pinks & reds than any other hue. I picked 7 thinking all the hues are covered but all the shades are more or less similar.

Right to left – Suave Mauve, Tan Fan, Brink Of Pink, Plum Yum, Rethink Pink, Drop Dead Red, Brazen Raisin

  1. Suave Mauve – Mauve Pink , more suitable for light medium complexions. Possible dupe for Colourpop Lumiere 2 Liquid Lip
  2. Tan Fan – Red toned brown, very pretty and suitable for medium – deeper complexions.
  3. Plum Yum – A bright plum-pink
  4. Brink Of Pink – Plum toned pink, another fav of mine.
  5. Rethink Pink – Bright raspberry pink
  6. Drop Dead Red – Deep red
  7. Brazen Raisin – Brown toned red

Texture & Formula – I find the formula a bit thin and runny, easy to apply nonetheless. I like the smooth texture, none of the shades had patchy finish and all of them went on evenly. Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipsticks take few seconds to dry down completely, but once set the finish is matte, quite velvety. These are matte hence quite drying , but nothing too uncomfortable. Thats the risk we have to take while enjoying matte liquid lipsticks, they will cling on to each dry patch and make the situation worse if the lips aren’t prepared for them.

Pigmentation – I was surprised to find all the shades very pigmented. Even Suave Mauve could cover the darkness on my lips quite well.

Staying Power – Depending on the intensity of color, the shades stay on for good 6-8+ hours on lips. Mine start to fade from the centre of the lips after meals. One would need a good Makeup remover to get rid of them completely.

Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipsticks are priced at Rs 499 each.

Overall Thoughts

I am quite impressed with the formula as well as staying power of Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipsticks. There are some beautiful shades in there, I hope the brands would add more variety soon.
