Tips to Treat Clogged Pores At Home
Dry dead cells, excess oil and dirt clogs the pores which forms the root cause for blackheads and acne. Following skin routine of cleansing and exfoliating helps to get rid of clogged pores. Here are few home remedies for preventing clogging of pores.
Steaming is the most economical and effective method for unclogging skin pores and keeps them free from impurities. You can either use a vaporiser/steamer or simply heat water in a pot until it gives steam. Cover your face with a clean cloth and let the steam pass onto your skin. Continue steaming for 15 minutes. Wash with cool water and pat dry. Apply moisturizer or a toner.
Take care not to burn your skin. Carry the steaming twice a week. It not only unclogs pores but also cleanses and prevents black heads and pimples.
The combination of sugar and lemon is a treatment for all skin imperfections. Sugar acts as a natural exfoliator in cleansing the pores.
Mix a spoonful of powdered sugar with lemon juice, rub this paste gently over the clogged skin. Follow in circular motions for 10 minutes and wash with cool water.
Honey is a well-known natural ingredient for enhancing skin’s beauty. Honey opens up pores and helps in skin tightening. It removes skin impurities, cleanses the pores and also has antibacterial properties.
Simply rub honey in the clogged area and leave for some time. Wash and pat dry. You can also mix honey with cinnamon powder for cleansing and unclogging the pores.
This citric fruit is an excellent exfoliator because of its acidic nature. Cut half a fresh lemon and rub over the clogged pores. It opens pores, removes dirt and excess oil and shrinks the pores thus preventing clogging.
The kitchen ingredient baking soda is an excellent deep pore cleanser. Prepare a cleansing solution with 2 spoons of baking soda and one spoon water. Form a smooth paste and apply on the troubled areas of your skin.
Rub it away after 10 minutes and rinse with cold water. Baking soda removes dirt, dead skin and balances the pH value of skin. Follow exfoliating with baking soda once a week.
Exfoliating skin with a dry facial brush helps to unclog the pores. Choose soft bristled facial brush so that they do not harm your skin. Do not use body brush as they are rough and harsh on facial skin.
Remove makeup if any before using the facial brush.
This is a homemade scrub to unclog pores. Brew fresh green tea. Collect two spoons of tea in a bowl and add one spoon sugar. Exfoliate in the clogged area and rinse in cool water.
Face masks are also excellent remedies for treating clogs. One such main component in making face masks is the fuller’s earth/multani mitti. Prepare a smooth paste of fuller’s earth and rose water. Apply to your face and rinse after drying. Fuller’s earth removes oil deposits , cleanses skin pores and makes skin whiten up.
Oatmeal is one more kitchen ingredient for treating clogs. Crush oatmeal into powder and mix with rose water or olive oil. Apply the paste to your face and gently rub creating exfoliating motion. It cleanses, removes oil and dirt and leaves skin soft.
Egg white helps in removing dirt and oil from skin and pores thus cleaning up pores. Refrigerate egg white for 10 minutes and mix lemon juice to it. Apply the mixture to your face and leave it to dry. Rinse with cool water.
